An Unexpected Journey

We had a private screening of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey last night.  The theatre sold only two tickets to watch the adventure in 3-D with High Frame Rate.

If you like fantasy, its a good movie!  Although 15 minutes of the 20-minute battle with goblins could have been eliminated, I enjoyed it.

I don't normally tolerate 3-D movies, but I think that Peter Jackson found the key to headache relief.  HFR plays at 48 frames per second versus the century-old standard of 24 fps.  This technology seems to play nice with the optical center of my Middle-Earth brain.
No cheap shots of scary things jumping out of the screen at you ... it was well done; a demonstration that high production values can produce a worthy 3-D experience.

Temple University Physical Therapy Class of 1976

The American Physical Therapy Association is holding its 2013 annual meeting in San Diego.   Gloria attended a reception for alumni of Temple University, and was delighted to meet five of her classmates there.  Also thrilled that Hy Dervitz, who founded Temple's PT program, was able to attend.
